SAFETY and WELL-BEING

International House considers safety as one of the most important aspects of the Junior program, and we put a huge amount of effort into ensuring that students have a great time while being safe. We have many staff members who sleep on campus and are there 24/7. Students can go to our staff with any problems they may have and our staff will be more than happy to help them any time. Below are the safety rules that we follow:

1. Each campus also has its own Security Police that patrol the campus 24/7.

2. Only students and staff living in the building have access to the building where the students live, so it is very safe. Each student has their own key for the building and their room.

3. We have a Health Care Officer on campus available 24/7. He or she will be the first contact person for students if they need any medical attention. In the event that a student is required to go to a medical clinic or the hospital, the Health Care Officer will accompany them and will stay with the student to help them through the whole process. The Health Care officer will also help fill out any related documentation.

4. All students who do not live on campus (Day Program students) will be taken care of by our staff. Our staff will ensure that none of the Day students leave at the end of the day without being signed out by an adult relative/guardian/family friend. A staff member will stay with the Day student until they have been picked up. Day students can leave campus on their own only after we receive a written parental permission.

5. Students are monitored by our staff at all times during the program. The ratio of staff members to students is always at least 1:6.

6. All students have personalized ID cards with the name and address of the campus where they are staying. The ID also includes all emergency numbers of the program, so someone is always available for the students if needed.

7. Each campus has an office where students can always go everyday from 8:00 - 22:00 for any questions or issues they may have.

8. None of our students can leave the campus unless they are accompanied by our staff members or their own group leaders.
